The Return of the King

"I looked into your future and I saw death."

"That future is almost gone."

"Nothing is certain."

"This is your test. Every path you have traveled through, wilderness through war, has led to this road."

"The enemy will never let Aragorn come to the throne of Gondor."

"Become who you were born to be."

"You gave away your life's grace. I cannot protect you anymore."

"I Aear can ven Namar." (The sea calls us home.)

The Two Towers

"Tollen i lu. I chair gwannar na Valannor. Si baro, no cirar. (The ships are leaving for Valinor, Go now, before it is too late.)"

"He is not coming back. Why do you linger here when there is no hope?"

"If Aragorn survives this war you will still be parted from him. If Sauron is defeated and Aragorn made king and all that you hoped for comes true you will still have to taste the bitterness of mortality. Whether by the sword or the slow decay of time, Aragorn will die."

"And there will be no comfort for you, no comfort to ease the pain of his passing. He will come to death, an image of the splendor of the kings of men in glory undimmed before the breaking of the world."

"But you, my daughter, you will linger on in darkness and in doubt. As nightfall in winter that comes without a star, here you will dwell, bound to your grief under the fading trees, until all the world is changed and the long years of your life are utterly spent."

"There is nothing for you here, only death."

"Ah im, u-erin veleth lin? (Do I not also have your love?)"

The Fellowship of the Ring

Elrond: "Tangado haid! Hado in phlilin!"

Elrond: "Lasto beth nin, tolo dan na ngalad."

"Welcome to Rivendell, Frodo Baggins."

"His strength returns."

"And yet to have come far, still bearing the Ring, the hobbit has shown extraordinary resilience to it's evil."

"Gandalf, the enemy is moving. Sauron's forces are massing in the east, his eye is fixed on Rivendell. And Saruman you tell me, has betrayed us. Our list of allies grows thin."

"This evil cannot be concealed by the power of the Elves. We do not have the strength to fight both Mordor and Isengard!"

"Gandalf, the Ring cannot stay here."

"This peril belongs to all Middle-earth. They must decide now how to end it. The time of the Elves is over, my people are leaving these shores. Who will you look to when we've gone? The Dwarves? They hide in their mountains seeking riches, they care nothing for the troubles of others."

"Men? Men are weak. The race of men is failing. The blood of Numenor is all but spent, it's pride and dignity forgotten. It is because of men the Ring survives. I was there, Gandalf. I was there three thousand years ago...when Isildur took the Ring. I was there the day the strength of men failed."

"Isildur, hurry! Follow me. I led Isildur into the heart of Mount Doom, where the Ring was forged, the one place it could be destroyed. Cast it into the fire! Destroy it!"

"Isildur! It should've ended that day, but evil was allowed to endure."

"Isildu kept the Ring. The line of kings is broken. There's no strength left in the world of men. They're scattered, divided, leaderless."

"He turned from that path a long time ago. He has chosen exile."

"Strangers from distant lands, friends of old. You have been summoned here to answer the threat of Mordor. Middle-earth stands upon the brink of destruction. None can escape it. You will unite or you will fall. Each race is bound to this fate, this one doom. Bring forth the ring, Frodo."

"Never before has anyone uttered the words of that tongue here in Imladris."

"You have only one choice. The ring must be destroyed."

"The ring cannot be destroyed, Gimli son of Gloin, by any craft that we here possess. The ring was made in the fires of Mount Doom. Only there can it be unmade. It must be taken deep into Mordor and cast back into the fiery chasm from whence it came. One of you must do this."

"No indeed it hardly possible to sepaate you, even when he is summoned to a secret council and you are not.

"Nine be it! You shall be the fellowship of the ring!"

"Anirne hene beriad i chen in. Ned Imladris nauthant e le beriarthar aen (She wanted to protect her child, she thought in Rivendell you would be safe)."

"In her heart your mother knew you'd be hunted all your life, that you'd never escape your fate. The skill of the Elves can reforge the sword of kings, but only you have the power to wield it."

"You are the last of that bloodline, there is no other."

"The Ringbearer is setting out on the quest of Mount Doom, and you who travel with him no oath nor bond is laid to go further than you will. Farewell, hold to your purpose, and may the blessings of Elves, Men, and all free folk go with you."
